Welcome to the online home of Rostfrei Records

Rostfrei Records was formed in 2006 as a way to consolidate the releases and marketing of various Ottawa-based bands. The label is an eclectic one with acts ranging from the pop stylings of The Infinions, the indie alt music of The Synics and Gus Moon, the free-form jazz of Anna Minster, the experimental electronica of Filth Therapy as well as the Progressive Rock of The Rebel Wheel.

We use the site Bandcamp to provide streaming, downloading and purchasing of artists work in a variety of formats including Flac, Wav, Aiff, mp3 and mp4 (i-Tunes files). We also have free downloads of all the album art-work, lyrics, production notes and credits through this site as well. Alternatively, you can buy a CD directly from us and while it is in being sent to you, we will also provide you with a link to download the digital files.

Each band we represent has their own page, here and at bandcamp, and in some cases, at CD Baby as well. On each Rostfrei artist's page you find links to the all the applicable sites. As such, we should be able to accommodate any needs you have for digital files of audio and artwork, as well as any hard copies of CDs or in some cases LPs.

If you are a band and are looking for a label we might be interested, but truthfully, we are a small enterprise and over the years have been overwhelmed by literally thousands of packages from local and national bands looking for a deal. In this day and age there is probably nothing we can do for you that you can't do for yourself, but we are always interested in hearing new bands and we do listen to every submission we get, so feel free to send us stuff.
