Casse-tête is a progressive rock band from Ottawa-Outaouais. Situated in a border region, the Casse-tête line-up includes both French and English-speaking members. The music has influences that range from Rush to Thinking Plague, with a strong helping of Gentle Giant and occasional Opeth-inspired moments.
Fronted by vocalist Christina Abraham, the band mixes the aggressive bass stylings of Gary Lauzon with the complex drumming of Chuck Ho, the varied dynamics and tones of guitarists Greg Kampf and David Campbell, and the wizardry of new keyboardist Eric Robillard. The latter also excels on guitar and flute.
Casse-tête are still at work on their debut album and perform occasional gigs in and around Ottawa. For more information on upcoming shows, go to the News page.
