Gus Moon

Augustus Moon's first album has just been released on Rostfrei Records. Believe.

Gus Moon is a Thunder Bay native who was transplanted to Ottawa by his politician father in 2006. He started recording his first album back in 2007 using several local musicians producer David Campbell hired. Together they recorded 10 songs. The players actually went on to form their own band Filth Therapy which Gus was a member of, but after about a year he decided to pursue the more commercial avenue he had originally been attracted to.

During that time his vocal song "Believe" and his instrumental "Peanut Butter" were optioned by various music supervisors for intended use on TV, so it was a strong incentive to finish the neglected album.

Now, after 3 years, Rostfrei Records is proud to announce the album is ready to be released officially! It features the playing of Pelle Vadim, David Campbell, Conner Holmes and John Kroy (from Filth Therapy) as well as guest vocals by DeeDee Butters of Ottawa group The Pep-Tides on the song "City Lights".

At once humorous and heart-felt, Gus' music appeals to a wide range of fans. His voice has been described as "Leonard Cohen meets David Gilmour", and his songs range from keyboard-oriented funk tunes, to poignant ballads.
